4 Ways to Set Yourself Up for Social Media Success in 2022!
The year is coming to a close and I can’t believe it! Before we know it, it will be “new year, new you” January. While I don’t believe in all the pressure that comes along with the new year, I do think it’s a great time to take a minute to appreciate how far you have come and revisit your long-term vision.
When we get wrapped up in the day-to-day of social media, it can be so easy to forget about the big picture.
Instead of focussing on your page’s daily growth, try asking yourself:
“Where do I see my business by the end of next year? What social media tactics do I need to implement to make that happen?”
When I first started my business, I was working with a coach. We had set goals together to kick off the process. A few months into working with her, she asked me what those original goals were and I couldn't remember them!
It was a big reality check for me. No wonder I felt like I was grasping at straws trying to grow in every direction! I quickly learned that I needed to remind myself of my long-term vision every day.
If you don’t want to be grasping at straws when it comes to your social media strategy for 2022, here are four things you can do to set yourself up for success.
Set realistic goals.
As much as we want to believe that a viral video will make us successful overnight, it won’t. What will make you successful is setting realistic goals, so do your research! Growing on social takes time. Setting realistic growth goals is key so that you don’t feel like you’re failing. Figure out how often you can post and keep it doable. You’re more likely to lose your consistency if you set your goals too high.
Outline your weekly social media tasks.
If your focus this year is on building community engagement, figure out how much time you need to spend engaging on your page each week. Are you batching your content on a weekly basis? Take time to outline what your weekly social media routine looks like. Don’t forget to include engagement, content creation, and posting!
Get comfortable with Reels and lifestyle content.
Video content has been on the rise ever since Reels were introduced on Instagram. Don’t be afraid to experiment! Video content is the best way for your audience to get to know you so don’t neglect it. When your audience can see your personality it builds “like, know, and trust” which helps them decide whether they want to invest in you or not. Lifestyle content also helps with this since your audience is able to see you outside of your role as an entrepreneur and can relate to you.
